Nicole Koh, Soprano

Nicole Koh is a soprano from Daly City, California. She is delighted to return to Opera San José as a Resident Artist for the 2026–27 season, where she will perform Zerlina in Don Giovanni, Tzeitel in Fiddler on the Roof, sing in the chorus of Doctor Atomic, and cover the role of Frasquita in Carmen. In the 2025–26 season, she performed the roles of Despina in Così fan tutte and Annina in La Traviata, after appearing as both Queen of the Night and Papagena in Die Zauberflöte during Opera San José’s 2024–25 season.

Nicole previously appeared as Gretel in Hansel and Gretel as an Apprentice Artist with Chautauqua Opera Company and performed the title role in The Cunning Little Vixen with the Chautauqua Opera Conservatory. She also covered the role of Winnie in Sky on Swings as a Young Artist with Opera Saratoga.

A graduate of the San Francisco Conservatory of Music and the University of British Columbia, Nicole studied under Rhoslyn Jones and Nancy Hermiston.

When she’s not on stage, Nicole loves collecting Sanrio, cute charms and jewelry, and watching anime. She also enjoys visiting the gals at her former workplace, Love & Luxe in San Francisco, and enjoys capturing photos for the consignment boutique, Julianna’s Luxe. Her happy place is the coffee shop greenhouse she built with her best friends Chea Kang and Luke Elmer, right in their garden. She also cherishes time with her friends and family, and can often be found playing intense rounds of Mario Party with her baby cousin, Cora.
