Nicole Koh, Soprano

Nicole Koh, soprano, is a native of Daly City, California. Nicole performed both the Queen of the Night and Papagena in Mozart’s Die Zauberflöte in Opera San José’s 2024–25 season, where she is thrilled to return as an Apprentice Artist for the 2025–26 season performing the roles of Despina in Mozart’s Così fan tutte and Annina in Verdi’s La Traviata. She also took part in the world premiere of City of Specters, an Opera Workshop production composed by Theo Popov.
This past summer, Nicole appeared as Gretel in Humperdinck’s Hansel and Gretel as an Apprentice Artist with the Chautauqua Opera Company. She also sang the title role in Janáček’s The Cunning Little Vixen with the Chautauqua Opera Conservatory under the direction of Marlena Malas and John Giampietro. Additionally, she covered the role of Winnie in Lembit Beecher’s Sky on Swings as a Young Artist with Opera Saratoga.
Nicole is a graduate of the San Francisco Conservatory of Music and the University of British Columbia, where she studied under Rhoslyn Jones and Nancy Hermiston. Her previous operatic credits include the title role in Monteverdi’s L’incoronazione di Poppea, Papagena in Mozart’s Die Zauberflöte, and Nella in Puccini’s Gianni Schicchi.
When she’s not on stage, Nicole loves collecting Sanrio, cute charms, heart
shaped jewelry, and watching anime. She also enjoys visiting the lovely gals at her former workplace, Love & Luxe in San Francisco, and enjoys capturing photos for the charming consignment boutique, Julianna’s Luxe. Her happy place is the cozy cafe greenhouse she built with her best friends Chea Kang and Luke Elmer, right in their garden.
