Do you have standing-room-only seats available for purchase?

At this time, we are not offering standing-room seats.

Do you offer discounts (military/senior)?
Opera San José frequently offers discounts on our mainstage productions to the public. Please sign up for our email list to stay informed.
Do you offer student tickets?
Student tickets can be purchased for $10, 90 minutes prior to the performance, depending on the available space.
What is Opera San Jose’s group ticket pricing?

Groups 10 or more receive 10% off. To take advantage of this discount please contact the box office. 

I can’t make my performance. Can I return my tickets for a refund?
All ticket sales are final. If you are unable to make your performance, you can exchange your tickets for a different date or donate your tickets back to Opera San José.
How do I donate my tickets?

I’ve forgotten my password to log in to my OSJ account. How do I get back in?

On the ‘Log In’ page of the website, simply click on the ‘Forgot Password’ option, and then follow the prompt to enter your email address. You will then receive an email with a link to reset your password. If you don’t receive the reset email, please contact the box office to confirm your account username.

How I can redeem my Flex Pass tickets?

Flex Pass tickets can be redeemed up to an hour before the performance. Seats will be assigned to the best available seats. If you have a seating preference, please specify when redeeming. To redeem, please contact Box Office at  or by phone (408) 437-4450.

Your Performance

When does the box office open on performance days
The box office opens 90 minutes before curtain. Matinees- 12:30pm and Evenings- 6pm.
I haven't received, lost or forgot my ticket/s. What should I do?

If you chose to have your tickets delivered electronically, you should receive them seven days before your performance. Physical tickets are mailed starting in August. If you haven’t received your tickets please reach out to the box office and we can resend them. You can also stop by the box office before your performance and we are happy to print new tickets. 

What should I wear?
As long as it is comfortable, come as you like to the opera. Whether you want to dress to the nines in a suit or gown or want to be comfortable in jeans and a sweater, all attire is welcome at the opera.
Where can I park?
There are multiple parking garages within easy walking distance of the California Theatre. We always encourage car pooling as it will be easier to find parking in the busy downtown. For more detailed parking information please click HERE.
Will I be able to understand the opera?
Even if you do not speak the language of the opera, we offer supertitles for all of our performances. Supertitles, like their cousin the subtitle, translate the opera, but instead of below, supertitles are above the stage. We offer supertitles for all performances, not only in English but also in Spanish.
What is the preshow talk?
The preshow talk is when we have a guest lecturer give a presentation about the opera you are about to watch. This can include musical examples, historical facts, or personal anecdotes from our guest lecturer.
Can I eat and drink in the theatre?

Beverages are allowed in the theatre but we ask that you finish eating before entering. 

Is this facility handicap friendly?
Yes, we have an elevator located at each entrance. An usher will assist you to and from the elevator.
