Opera San José Audition Notice
Opera San José is currently casting Resident Company and Guest Artists for the 2023–2024 season. Fully-vaccinated singers are encouraged to apply for all role types, and may be invited for in-person auditions, held in both San José and New York:

Applicants are required to submit a résumé, headshot, and one recording. If invited for an in-person audition, please come prepared with five arias with at least two languages represented. A pianist will be provided.

Opera San José’s maintains a company of artists in residence who perform lead roles in all mainstage productions. These artists join OSJ for the full season year (July 2023 – June 2024), earn a regular salary, are provided housing, and are eligible for benefits.

Opera San José 2021–2022 Season Audition Notice
WEST SIDE STORY
Opera San José is currently seeking vaccinated performers of all ethnic backgrounds for principal, supernumerary, dance ensemble, and cover roles for our Spring 2022 production of West Side Story. In-person auditions will be held in San Jose on December 3, 2021.
Submissions are due Friday, November 26.

Everyone who is invited to audition will be asked to sing and participate in a dance call. A pianist will be provided.
- SINGING: You will be asked to prepare specific musical selections from West Side Story depending on the role for which you would like to be considered. Audition materials may be found here.
- DANCE CALL: Please wear sneakers and clothing in which you can move. You will be taught a group routine.
