Noah Lindquist is an emerging conductor whose dynamic artistry and deep operatic knowledge have positioned him as a compelling new voice on the podium. Currently assistant conductor at Lyric Opera of Chicago—a role he has held since 2016—Lindquist is a trusted musical leader behind many of the company’s major productions. He is also a frequent collaborator with San Francisco Opera, contributing to numerous summer seasons and working alongside some of the world’s leading vocalists and conductors.
In 2023, Lindquist made a notable conducting debut with Don Pasquale at Festival Napa Valley. The performance, which featured an all-star cast including Lucas Meachem, Serena Sáenz, Alexey Lavrov, and Thomas Cilluffo, was met with notable acclaim. He led the Festival Napa Valley Orchestra, an ensemble comprising members of the Philadelphia Orchestra, Metropolitan Opera Orchestra, San Francisco Symphony, and Los Angeles Philharmonic. The success of the production led to a return engagement when the opera toured to the Mondavi Center in Davis, California.
Lindquist also serves as Head of Music at Festival Napa Valley’s Manetti Shrem Opera Program, where he structures the program, leads faculty and student recruitment, and the curates the musical development of rising operatic talent. He is a graduate of Williams College and the Mannes School of Music, and a distinguished alumnus of both the Merola Opera Program and San Francisco Opera’s Adler Fellowship.
As a pianist, Lindquist has collaborated in performance with leading operatic voices including Matthew Polenzani, Quinn Kelsey, Michael Fabiano, Kathryn Lewek, and Pene Pati. As a coach, he maintains a thriving private studio, mentoring artists who appear with major companies such as the Metropolitan Opera, San Francisco Opera, Houston Grand Opera, Oper Frankfurt, Opernhaus Zürich, and many more.
With a unique combination of technical precision, interpretive insight, and deep experience in the operatic tradition, Noah Lindquist is fast gaining recognition as a conductor of sensitivity, authority, and promise.
