Danielle Imai, Mezzo-Soprano, is a third-generation Santa Cruz native and current resident of the Bay Area. She’s performed in the Chorus at Opera San Jose every season since their 2022 production of Bizet’s Carmen. Danielle is thrilled to join Opera San Jose’s 2025-26 Season as The Aunt in Puccini’s Madama Butterfly. This marks her first named role with the company.
When not on stage Danielle works as a specialist in early childhood music education, having graduated Magna Cum Laude from San Jose State University with her Bachelors of Music Education. She is a certified Kindermusik educator, working with students aged 0-7 years old. She credits her own wonderful childhood music educators for her passion and skill today.
