Bio:

Korean tenor Ilhee Lee is establishing himself as a dynamic and versatile presence on the operatic stage. He has appeared as an Apprentice Artist with both The Santa Fe Opera and Central City Opera, where he performed on the mainstage and gained recognition for his artistry.

Most recently, he performed Arcadio in Daniel Catán’s Florencia en el Amazonas and Rinuccio in Puccini’s Gianni Schicchi with the Boston University Opera Institute. His other stage credits include Tito in Mozart’s La clemenza di Tito and the Prince in Massenet’s Cendrillon with the Boston University Opera Institute; Nemorino in Donizetti’s L’elisir d’amore; Endimione in Martín y Soler’s L’arbore di Diana; Aeneas in Purcell’s Dido and Aeneas; Tamino in Mozart’s Die Zauberflöte; and Quint in Britten’s The Turn of the Screw with the New England Conservatory.

Mr. Lee’s artistry has been recognized with awards including the Joan and Henry Wheeler Presidential Scholarship, the Tan Family Foundation Scholarship from the New England Conservatory, and the John Moriarty Award from Central City Opera.

He holds a Performance Diploma from the Boston University Opera Institute, a GraduateDiploma from the New England Conservatory of Music, and both a Bachelor and Masterof Music degree from Seoul National University.
