Opera San José’s Singers’ Academy is a dynamic, one-week summer program for teen singers who are ready to explore their voices, build confidence, and take the next step in their musical journey.
From students who simply love to sing, to those dreaming of performing on the world’s biggest stages—or creating their own path online—the Singers’ Academy is a place to grow, learn, and be inspired.
Program Details

Ages: 13*–18 *(13 for students entering high school in Fall 2026)

Dates: Monday, July 6 – Saturday, July 11, 2026

Program Times: Monday–Friday, 9:00 AM–3:00 PM
What Students Will Experience
This immersive week combines individualized attention with exciting group work, led by Opera San José teaching artists. Students will dive into:

Private voice lessons tailored to each singer

Vocal technique and musical coaching

Scene work and storytelling through music
-
Movement and staging
-
Audition skills training, including how to create a polished self-tape

1–2 group performance numbers that bring it all together
- A final recital performance to bring it all together!
All levels welcome — from beginners to advanced singers.
Music Provided in Advance
To help students arrive feeling prepared and confident, all participants will receive their assigned music one month in advance, including both the song and an accompaniment track.
Optional add-on private lessons with Opera San José teaching artists will be available for purchase for students who want extra coaching before the program begins. These lessons are entirely optional.
Tuition & Scholarships
