Karin Mushegain returns in the 2017-18 season, appearing as Zibaldona in the North American premiere of Alma Deutscher’s Cinderella. Ms. Mushegain made her company debut during the 2015-16 season as Cherubino in OSJ’s The Marriage of Figaro. Highlights of the 2017–2018 season for Ms. Mushegain include Suzuki in Puccini’s Madame Butterfly with Opera San Luis Obispo, Aldonza in Leigh’s Man of La Mancha with Pensacola Opera, the soloist in Bernstein’s Symphony No.1 Jeremiah with Bakersfield Symphony, and the mezzo soloist in Mozart’s Requiem with Sacramento Choral Society.
During the 2016–2017 season, she portrayed Aldonza in Man of La Mancha with Indianapolis Opera, made her role debut as Despina in Mozart’s Così fan tutte with Pasadena Opera, returned to the role of Dorabella in Così fan tutte in France, and sang Handel’s Messiah in concert with The Salastina Music Society.
She recently made her Seattle Opera debut in the title role of Rossini’s La Cenerentola, a signature role she has performed all throughout the US, with Festival Lyrique-en-mer in France, and the Manila Symphony Orchestra, marking her Asia debut. Other notable engagements include Cherubino with Seattle Opera and Virginia Opera, Zerlina in Mozart’s Don Giovanni and the Minskwoman in Dove’s Flight both with Austin Lyric Opera, the title role in Montsalvatge’s El Gato Con Botas for Gotham Chamber Opera, Rosina in Il Barbiere di Siviglia in both Virginia and France, and performances with Los Angeles Opera, New York City Opera, and Glimmerglass Opera Festival, to name a few.
Off the opera stage, Ms. Mushegain may be heard on multiple soundtracks for the widely popular video game series, Heroes of Might and Magic.
