MAINSTAGE STUDENT MATINEES
Mainstage Student Matinees for the 2015 – 2016 season will be:
- Tosca (G. Puccini): Wednesday, Sept. 9, 2015: 11:30 a.m.
- The Marriage of Figaro (W.A. Mozart): Tuesday, Nov. 10, 2015: 11:30 a.m.
- Carmen (G. Bizet): Wednesday, Feb. 10, 2016: 11:30 a.m. FULL (fill out online form to be put on a wait list)
- A Streetcar Named Desire (A. Previn): Wednesday, April 13, 2016: 11:30 a.m.
Requesting Seats
To request seats at these student matinees, fill out this online form AFTER July 1, 2015. Attendance at student matinee performances are free to students and their teachers/chaperones that accompany them. To ensure that the maximum number of seats are available for students, please keep the number of adult chaperones to a minimum.

Additional Details
Mainstage student matinees, which run approximately 3 hours, take place at the California Theatre located at 345 S. First Street in downtown San Jose. Tosca and The Marriage of Figaro will be sung in Italian with English supertitles; Carmen will be sung in French with English supertitles; A Streetcar Named Desire will be sung in English with English supertitles. Tosca, The Marriage of Figaro and Carmen are recommended for students 6th grade and older; due to mature subject matter including sexual content, A Streetcar Named Desire is restricted to high school students only. Study guides are sent in advance to prepare students for the performance. For a synopsis of each work, click on each opera title.
