TICKET EXCHANGE & DONATION

POLICIES AND PROCEDURES

Ticket Exchange Policies and Procedures
Season ticket holders may exchange their tickets at no fee; single ticket buyers pay a fee of $10 per ticket.  Tickets can be exchanged only to another performance of the same opera.  When exchanging into a more expensive seating category, additional payment is required.  Please give the box office at least 48 hours notice when exchanging.

Include your exchange date preferences.  Seating is based on availability, so send your exchange request as early as possible.  If time is of the essence, write VOID on your tickets and fax a photocopy of them to 408.437.4455. Voided tickets may also be scanned as jpgs or PDFs and emailed as an attachment to boxoffice@operasj.org.  Note the date you wish to exchange into on the photocopy or your email before you fax/send it.  We must receive the tickets or see that they have been voided before we can exchange them.

Ticket Donation Policies and Procedures
If you are unable to attend an opera, please return your tickets for resale.  The IRS will accept returned tickets as a tax-deductible donation in the event that the tickets are resold.  Opera San José will mail you a donation acknowledgement as soon as the tickets have been sold.

or fax a photocopy of your VOIDED tickets to 408.437.4455 and note on the photocopy that they are for resale. You may also scan your voided tickets and email as a jpg or PDF to boxoffice@operasj.org Please note in your email that tickets are for resale.
