Katharine GunninkSoprano Katharine Gunnink makes her company debut in the role of Sister Osmina (Suor Angelica) during the 2012-13 season. Most recently, Ms. Gunnink was a Festival Artist with Utah Festival Opera covering the roles of both Donna Anna and Donna Elvira in Don Giovanni and Hanna Glawari in The Merry Widow as well as performing the role of Pamela Whitmore in South Pacific.

In February she sang the role of Rosalinde (Die Fledermaus) with Center Stage Opera in LA. She has also participated in the Aspen Music Festival covering the role of Marie Antoinette in John Corigliano’s The Ghosts of Versailles, and sang Nella in Winter Opera of St. Louis’s production of Gianni Schicchi.

In past seasons, Katharine has sung Mimì (La bohème,) Fiordiligi (Così fan tutte,) and Helena (A Midsummer Night’s Dream.) A native of Sonoma County, California, she has completed her master’s degree in Opera Performance and post-graduate work at the San Francisco Conservatory of Music.
