Mr. Marcheso returns during the 2013-14 season to conduct performances of Hansel and Gretel, his 10th conducting assignment with OSJ, and also serves as Assistant Conductor for Madama Butterfly. Other OSJ performances Mr. Marcheso has conducted include the 2013-14 double-bill of Suor Angelica and Gianni Schicchi, and the 2011-12 performances of La traviata and Faust.
Mr. Marcheso recently joined the conducting staff of San Francisco Opera for the West Coast premiere of John Adams’ Nixon in China and the San Francisco premiere of Jake Heggie’s Moby-Dick. He returned in 2012-13 for the world premieres of Mark Adamo’s The Gospel of Mary Magdalene and Tobias Picker’s Dolores Claiborne as well as a new production of The Flying Dutchman. In 2013, Mr. Marcheso joined the conducting staff of Washington National Opera for their production of Manon Lescaut. He has also conducted Hailstork’s Joshua’s Boots for the young artists at Opera Theater of St. Louis as well as productions for Festival Opera.
