Sara Duchovnay makes her company debut singing the role of Nannetta (Falstaff). In September of 2012, Ms. Duchovnay made her professional operatic debut in the role of Musetta (La bohème) with Hidden Valley Opera under the baton of Maestro Stewart Robertson. Other recent performances include the role of Susanna in a well-received production of Le nozze di Figaro with Pacific Opera Project in Los Angeles, California. She also appeared as an Artist in Residence with Opera Saratoga’s “Opera to Go” program in February and March of 2013, bringing opera to over 25,000 students in over 45 elementary schools throughout Upstate New York. She performed the roles of the Old Blue Lady and Olympia in John Davies’ operatic pastiche Pinocchio, directed by Opera Saratoga’s General Director, Curtis Tucker.
On the concert stage, Ms. Duchovnay has appeared as a soloist with San Francisco Bach Choir in March of 2012 for the Bach Magnificat and the Vivaldi Gloria, and in October of 2012 for their Mozart in Salzburg concert, where she had the privilege of performing rarely heard works composed by the young genius.
A native of Bryn Mawr, Pennsylvania, Sara holds a Bachelor of Music in vocal performance from the Hartt School of Music and graduated with departmental honors for outstanding achievement in voice with her Master of Music in vocal performance from the San Francisco Conservatory of Music.
