Elisabeth Russ

Soprano

Elisabeth Russ makes her company debut during the 2012-13 season, appearing as Adele  (Die Fledermaus), Sister Genovieffa (Suor Angelica), and Nella (Gianni Schicchi). Ms. Russ has appeared with several companies throughout the United States, including Boston Lyric Opera, Opera New Jersey, West Bay Opera, Pacific Repertory Opera, the Janiec Opera Company, Mission City Opera, Santa Cruz Chamber Orchestra, Townsend Opera, New England Light Opera, Livermore Valley Opera, Pocket Opera, Intermezzo Opera, Opera San Jose and Utah Festival Opera. Roles performed include Susanna (The Marriage of Figaro), Norina (Don Pasquale), Despina (Così fan tutte), Valencienne (The Merry Widow), Flora (The Turn of the Screw), Zerlina (Don Giovanni), Maria (West Side Story), Papagena and Pamina (The Magic Flute), Lisette (La rondine), Oscar (Un Ballo in Maschera), Frasquita (Carmen), Polly (Threepenny Opera) and Cunegonde (Candide).

In orchestral works, Ms. Russ has performed as a soloist in Mozart’s Vesperae solennes de confessore, Handel’s Messiah, Vivaldi’s Gloria, Mozart’s Laudate Dominum and Mass in C, and Diana in Bach’s Was mir behagt with San Luis Obispo’s Mozart Festival.

Ms. Russ was a finalist in the Ladies Music Club of Seattle Competition and a semi-finalist in the Lois Alba Aria Competition, both in 2011. She received her Bachelor’s Degree in Vocal Performance from Oberlin Conservatory and her Masters from Boston University.
