Children's Chorus Director

Peggy Spool

Peggy Spool directs the children's chorus in Opera San José's 2007 - 2008 production of Werther. Ms. Spool is the founder and artistic of Vivace Children's Chorus which is currently celebrating its fifth season. Ms. Spool attended Oberlin College, and received a B.Mus. in Voice from Boston University. She also holds a Master’s in Voice from the San Francisco Conservatory of Music, and a Certificate in Kodaly Music Education from Holy Names University in Oakland, CA. She has studied conducting with Dr. Charlene Archibeque, Dr. Stephen Sano, and holds a Level Three Certificate from the Choral Music Experience under Doreen Rao. She is a member of the American Choral Director’s Association, National Teachers of Singing, and Organization of American Kodaly Educators. Currently, she is a board member of the Northern California Association of Kodaly Educators, and serves as recording secretary for Silicon Valley Arts Coalition.
