Anthony Quartuccio returns during the
2008 - 2009 season to conduct The Elixir of Love and to serve as
Assistant Conductor in
Così fan tutte. Last season, Mr. Quartuccio
conducted Lucia
di Lammermoor and was Assistant Conductor for Rigoletto. Mr. Quartuccio's extensive history with the company
includes conducting performances of Roméo et Juliette and Madama
Butterfly (2006 - 2007), The Crucible (2005 - 2006) and OSJ's productions of La bohème, Don Giovanni, Le
nozze di Figaro, Tosca, Carmen, The Flying Dutchman, Don Pasquale, La Cenerentola,
Il trovatore, Falstaff and the world
premiere of The Tale of the Nutcracker.
Mr. Quartuccio is music director of the
South Valley Symphony and assistant conductor of the San Jose Chamber
Orchestra. He holds degrees in conducting from the Curtis Institute and
Santa Clara University, where he received an honorary Heritage
Foundation Achievement Award for the Arts. Mr. Quartuccio's conducting
and instrumental appearances include the Spokane Symphony, Cabrillo and
Brevard Festival orchestras, the Santa Cruz Symphony and the San
Francisco Symphony. |
