Anthony Quartuccio returns during the
2009 - 2010 season to conduct La Cenerentola and share conducting
duties for The Marriage of Figaro. Last season, Mr. Quartuccio
conducted The Elixir of Love and served as
Assistant Conductor in
Così fan tutte. Mr. Quartuccio's long history with OSJ
includes conducting productions of
Lucia
di Lammermoor, Rigoletto, Roméo et Juliette, Madama
Butterfly, The Crucible, La bohème, Don Giovanni, Le
nozze di Figaro, Tosca, Carmen, The Flying Dutchman, Don Pasquale, La Cenerentola,
Il trovatore, Falstaff and the world
premiere of The Tale of the Nutcracker.
Mr. Quartuccio is music director of the
South Valley Symphony and assistant conductor of the San Jose Chamber
Orchestra. He holds degrees in conducting from the Curtis Institute and
Santa Clara University, where he received an honorary Heritage
Foundation Achievement Award for the Arts. Mr. Quartuccio's conducting
and instrumental appearances include the Spokane Symphony, Cabrillo and
Brevard Festival orchestras, the Santa Cruz Symphony and the San
Francisco Symphony. |
