Costume Designer
Anna Oliver makes her
Opera San José debut as costume designer during the 2007 - 2008 season for
The Magic Flute. Previous design credits for Ms. Oliver include
Die Entführung aus dem Serail for Houston Grand Opera, Boston Lyric
Opera, Portland Opera, Opera Pacific and Kansas Opera; Il Viaggio A Reims
for Canadian Opera Company and New York City Opera; Turandot for
Houston Grand Opera, Minnesota Opera, Dallas Opera, Portland Opera and
others; Hansel and Gretal for New York City Opera and Los Angeles
Opera; and Norma for San Francisco Opera, Opera Colarado and Canadian
Opera Company, to name just a few.
For theater, Ms. Oliver's
designs have appeared in Man and Superman, Nicholas Nickleby, The Taming
of the Shrew (California Shakespeare); Misalliance and As You
Like It (The Globe); Iphigenia at Aulis and Major Barbara
(San Jose Repertory) and The Constant Wife (American Conservatory
Theatre) as well as many other theater productions within the United States
and Europe.
Ms. Oliver was nominated
for the Helen Hayes Award in 2006 for Best Costume Design for her work in
Don Juan (Shakespeare Theatre). She received her BFA in Drawing from the
California College of Arts and Crafts, and her MFA in Theatre Design from
Yale School of Drama. |
