Paul Murray returns
during the 2010 - 2011 season to perform the roles of Prince Yashvin
(Anna Karenina),
Basilio (The Barber of Seville) and Benoit (La bohème.)Last season, Mr. Murray
appeared as Alidoro in La Cenerentola
after making his
Opera San José debut as Zuniga (Carmen) during the 2008 -
2009 season.
Other roles performed recently include the title role in
Gianni Schicchi, with the San Francisco Conservatory of Music (SFCM),
Figaro (The Marriage of Figaro) with BASOTI and SFCM,
Bottom the Weaver (A Midsummer Night's Dream) with SFCM, Don
Alfonso (Così fan tutte) with Bangkok Opera, and Schaunard
(La bohème)
with Livermore Valley Opera. For Berkeley Opera, Mr.
Murrary appeared as Bluebeard (Bluebeard's Castle) and the
Four Villains (Tales of Hoffman).
Concert engagements
include performances of Henry Mollicone's Beatitude Mass, the
St. John Passion with the San Francisco Bach Choir, and
various recitals of the cycles of Schumann and Schubert.
Mr. Murray has made the
Bay Area his home for the last five years, receiving his Master's
Degree in Vocal Performance from the San Francisco Conservatory of
Music in 2005. In addition to his performing schedule, Mr. Murray
teaches collegiate voice lessons at Santa Clara University.
