Tihana Herceg,

Ms. Herceg makes her Opera
San José debut as Charlotte in the company's 2007 - 2008 production of
Werther. The Croatian mezzo-soprano has performed extensively
throughout her native Croatia and the United States, appearing in such
roles as Cherubino (The Marriage of Figaro), Dorabella (Così
fan tutte), Dido (Dido and Aeneas), Prince Orlofsky (Die
Fledermaus), the title role in Carmen and Suzuki (Madama
Butterfly), to name just a few. Ms. Herceg has performed with the
Croatian National Theatre Opera, Los Angeles Opera, Austin Lyric
Opera, and Opera Illinois. Recent engagements include the role of
Maddalena (Rigoletto) with Opera Santa Barbara, Romeo in
Bellini's I Capuletti ed i Montecchi, and Pergolesi's Stabat
Mater in her native Croatia. On the concert stage, she appeared with the Los Angeles Philharmonic, Los Angeles Chorale and New England Symphonic Ensemble at New York's Carnegie Hall and the Hrvatski Glazbeni Zavod Symphony Orchestra in Croatia. Ms Herceg is a winner of numerous vocal competitions including the Metropolitan Opera Competition (Northwest Region), New York/New Jersey Alliance of Performing Artists National Vocal Competition, and the Loren Zachary National Vocal Competition. |
