Andrew Fernando makes his company debut in the title role of Rigoletto during the 2007 - 2008 season. Roles performed recently by Mr. Fernando include Marcello (La bohème), Dr. Falke (Die Fledermaus), the title role in Gianni Schicchi, Doctor Malatesta (Don Pasquale), Doctor Bartolo (The Barber of Seville), and Masetto (Don Giovanni), to name just a few. On the international stage, he has perfomed at such venues as The Cultural Center of the Philippines, Singapore Lyric Opera, Bangkok Symphony Orchestra and Syrinx Concerts Orchestra Orchestra of France. Within the United States, Mr. Fernando performed as principal artist with the San Francisco Opera Merola program, Opera Pacific, Eugene Opera, Chicago Opera Theater, Los Angeles Metropolitan Symphony, The Walt Disney Hall, and many other American companies. Awards and accolades include First Prize winner of the 2003 Loren L. Zachary National Vocal Competition, district prize winner in the Metropolitan Opera National Auditions in the Los Angeles district and Pacific region competitions, Grand Prize winner in the Pasadena Opera Guild Vocal Competition (2004) and a grand finalist in the Licia Albanese Puccini International Vocal Competition (2003). Upcoming performances for Mr. Fernando include Cendrillon and Tosca with the New York City Opera and Britten's War Requiem with the Philippine Philharmonic Orchestra.
