Silas Elash joins OSJ's resident ensemble of
principal artists during the 2008 - 2009 season, performing the roles of
Gremin (Eugene Onegin), Dr. Dulcamara (The Elixir of Love),
Alfonso (Così fan tutte) and Zuniga (Carmen). Last
season, Mr. Elash appeared as Raimondo (Lucia di
Lammermoor), Le Bailli (Werther), Count Monterrone (Rigoletto)
and Sarastro (The Magic Flute). He made his company debut during
the 2006 - 2007 season in the roles of the Duke of Verona (Roméo et Juliette)
and the Registrar (Madama Butterfly).
Other roles performed recently
include Colline (La bohème), Escamillo (Carmen), and
Alfio (Cavalleria Rusticana) with the Opera Institute of
California. On the concert stage, Mr. Elash has performed for the
Italian Society of Monterey, and has
performed at the Silicon Valley Charity
Ball. He regularly performs in concerts throughout the Bay
Area and Southern California and makes regular appearances at the Jarvis
Conservatory in Napa, California.
