MAINSTAGE STUDENT MATINEES
Mainstage Student Matinees for the 2014 – 2015 season will be:
- Rigoletto (G. Verdi): Wednesday, Sept. 3, 2014: 11:30 a.m.
- The Italian Girl in Algiers (G. Rossini): Wednesday, Nov. 12, 2014: 11:30 a.m.
- Where Angels Fear to Tread (M. Weiser): Wednesday, Feb. 4, 2015: 11:30 a.m.
- The Magic Flute (W. Moxart): Wednesday, April 15, 2015: 11:30 a.m.
To request seats at these student matinees, fill out an online form AFTER July 14, 2014. San Jose schools receive priority registration until September 30.

Mainstage student matinees, which run approximately 3 hours, take place at the California Theatre located at 345 S. First Street in downtown San Jose. Rigoletto and The Italian Girl in Algiers will be sung in Italian with English supertitles; Where Angels Fear to Tread will be sung in English with English supertitles; The Magic Flute will be sung in German with English supertitles. Rigoletto and Where Angels Fear to Tread are recommended for students 6th grade and older; The Italian Girl in Algiers and The Magic Flute are recommended for 4th grade and older. Study guides are sent in advance to prepare students for the performance. For a synopsis of each work, click on each opera title.
