Cash Gifts
Donations of cash are always welcome. You may specify that your donation be used for general operating expenses or you may restrict your gift for use in any of our existing programs: Principal Artists of the Resident Company, K-12 Educational Programming, Community-Wide Performances, or any mainstage production.

Matching Gifts
Did you know that you could double or even triple your generous, tax-deductible gift through the help of a corporate match?  Last season, corporate matching gifts provided more than $40,000 in contributions to Opera San José!

Many companies offer matching gift programs, and will match charitable donations made by their employees.  Check with your benefits manager or Human Resources department for your company's matching policies and restrictions- sometimes gifts by retirees, members of the board of directors, and spouses are also eligible. You can also use the Matchinggifts.com website to look up your employer to see if they offer a matching gift program.

Your employer will provide you with instructions on how to participate in their program. Your gift will then be listed in our donor listings at the combined level of your donation and the matching gift, and your employer will be listed among our matching gift companies.  Best of all, matching funds may elevate your donor level, increasing your benefits!

Donations of Stock
It is very easy to transfer stock to Opera San José as a gift. Forms and instructions are readily available from Opera San José for making such transfers. As electronic stock transfers cannot be traced to the donor, always call (408) 437-4462 or email frazier@operasj.org before making an electronic stock transfer.

Pledges of Support
It is very easy to set up a plan whereby you receive a reminder of your pledge in the months you specify. Opera San José will mail you a pledge reminder and a return envelope to make keeping up with the schedule as easy as possible. You can also direct the development department to bill your Visa or MasterCard account for specific amounts at specified intervals.
