Soprano Rebecca Davis joins OSJ's resident
company during the 2008 - 2009 season, performing the roles of Tatyana
(Eugene Onegin), Adina (The Elixir of Love), Fiordiligi
(Così fan tutte), and
Micaela (Carmen). Ms. Davis recently made her Carnegie Hall
debut as soprano soloist Schubert's Mass in G, Mozart's
Laudate Dominum and Raminsh's Missa Brevis. Roles performed
recently include Mimì (La bohème)
and Fiordiligi (Così fan tutte)with American Opera Group.
Upcoming performances feature Ms. Davis in the title role of Tosca
with DuPage Opera Theater.
Ms.
Davis has also appeared with such companies as Chicago Opera Theater,
the Sarasota Opera, Kentucky Opera, Opera North, Intimate Opera and
Opera Theatre North in such roles as Musetta (La bohème),
Donna Elvira (Don Giovanni) and Violetta
(La traviata)She has been a member of Chicago Opera Theater's
Young Artist Program, Sarasota Opera's Apprentice Artist Program,
Kentucky Opera's Rudd Young Artist Program, and served as an
Apprentice Artist for Opera North.
Ms. Davis has received numerous awards,
including the Grand Prize of the Chicago Bel Canto competition and
finalist of the Tri-State Region in the Metropolitan Opera National
Council's competition.
