Sara Beukers,
Wig & Make-up Designer

Now in her 14th season as Opera San José's resident wig and make-up designer, Ms. Beuker's work has been featured in The Crucible, A Masked Ball, Madama Butterfly, Don Giovanni, Le nozze di Figaro, Die Fledermaus, Eugene Oñegin, La traviata, Così fan tutte, Carmen, Les Pêcheurs de perles, Rigoletto, Xerxes, La Voix humaine, Pagliacci, Faust, La bohème, The Tale of the Nutcracker (world premiere), The Rake's Progress, Of Mice and Men, L'elisir d'amore, Cavalleria rusticana, Manon, The Flying Dutchman and others. 

She has designed for Chautauqua Opera in productions including Don Giovanni, The Mikado, Daughter of the Regiment, Carmen, Hansel and Gretel, and Count Ory.  In addition, she has supervised wigs and make-up for Western Opera Theater's tours of La traviata and La bohème and has worked with San Francisco Opera, San Francisco Ballet, San José Cleveland Ballet, American Musical Theater, TheatreWorks, New Orleans Opera, Tulsa Opera, Fort Worth Opera, Contra Costa Musical Theatre, Stockton Opera, Diablo Light Opera Company, The Willows Theatre Company, Stanford University, San José Stage Company, Aurora Theatre, and the Hartt School. Ms. Beukers has also been a guest lecturer for make-up classes at both Stanford University and the Hartt School.
