Bill Welch,
Tenor

 

 

 

 


During the 2006 - 2007 season, tenor Bill Welch appears as Tybalt (Roméo et Juliette), Gastone (La traviata) and Goro (Madama Buttefly). Mr. Welch was recently seen as Reverend Samuel Parris in The Crucible, Armfelt (A Masked Ball) and Parpignol (La bohème). Other roles performed with Opera San José include Don Curzio (Le nozze di Figaro), Spoletta (Tosca), Remendado (Carmen) the Steersman (Der fliegende Holländer), Notary (Don Pasquale), Beppe (Pagliacci), and Dr. Blind (Die Fledermaus).

Mr. Welch has appeared with the Berkeley Opera as El Remendado (Carmen) and as Normanno (Lucia di Lammermoor) with Bay Shore Lyric Opera.  Other roles performed have included Lippo in Kurt Weill's Street Scene and the operetta roles of Alfredo (Die Fledermaus) and Ralph Rackstraw (HMS Pinafore).  

Concert appearances include solo performances in Saint-Saens' Christmas Oratorio, Bach's Mass in B minor and St. Matthew Passion and Verdi's Requiem.
