Kerry Walsh,

During the 2006 - 2007 season, KERRY WALSH will appear as Donna Elvira (Don Giovanni) for Opera North Carolina. 2005 - 2006 engagements included
a recording of operatic duets with tenor José Luis Duval and the Mexico City Symphony; the title role in Kali, to be premiered in Berlin and performed throughout Europe, Asia and the United States; and the role of Antonia in Rio de Sangre by Don Davis, to be premiered with the LA Master Chorale in the new Disney Hall. Ms. Walsh also was a featured voice in several Hollywood film soundtracks, including King Kong, X-Men 3, Fantastic Four and The Marine.

Other recent engagements for Ms. Walsh include an appearance as Mimì at the Rubicon Theater of Ventura and the lead role in a new short chamber opera by Nicholas Chase entitled "22" with Long Beach Opera during the 2003 - 2004 season.

Ms. Walsh continues her work both in opera and contemporary music having released a CD of French art songs and performed and recorded composer Ray Shattenkirk's Aves (a new work commissioned by Chamber Music America) and premiered Ross Whitney's Concerto for flute and voice, which was composed for her. She appeared in Sacramento with the Northern California Ensemble Music Now in a presentation entitled Lullabies to the Millennium, and returned to the opera stage in the roles of Constanze (Die Entführung aus dem Serail) in Santa Barbara and Mimì (La bohème) with San Luis Obispo Mozart Festival.

During the 1999 - 2000 season, Ms. Walsh sang Mimì  and the Marschallin with Jerome Hines’ Opera Music Theatre International, appeared in Santa Barbara’s French Festival and appeared in Santa Barbara Civic Light Opera’s production of The King and I as Lady Thiang. Other 1999 - 2000 performances included the Countess (Le nozze di Figaro) with New Jersey Opera and her debut performance in the title role of Norma and a performance with the Oregon Mozart Players in Eugene, Oregon. In addition to her performing schedule, the soprano is also a fellow with Jerome Hines’ organization OMTI in which she was featured in a concert in New York in October 2000.
