Barnaby Palmer
Assistant Conductor

 

 

 


Barnaby Palmer shares conducting duties for Opera San José's production of The Barber of Seville during the 2006 - 2007 season.
Mr. Palmer was appointed Artistic and Music Director of San Francisco Lyric Opera in 2002 and has led over 80 performances of 20 new productions.  He  graduated from the University of Michigan with a Master’s degree in Clarinet Performance, in the spring of 1999.  Previously he attended the Cleveland Institute of Music, and The Interlochen Arts Academy.  He has studied conducting with Alan Gilbert, Rossen Milanov and Larry Rachleff, and has conducted in Michigan as well as the Czech Republic.  In addition he has participated in festivals such as the National Repertory Orchestra, the Sarasota Music Festival, the International Symphony Orchestra in Jerusalem and the Festival at Sandpoint.  Barnaby Palmer is currently studying with Michael Morgan.
