Engagements during the 2005 - 2006 season
for JULIE MAKEROV include her debut with Seattle Opera where she
is doublecast with soprano Jane Eaglen as Rosalinde in
that company's production of Die Fledermaus,
followed by a tour to Japan with the Met where she will cover the
role of Gerhilde (Die Walkure). Ms Makerov will then perform the roles of Donna Anna (Don
Giovanni) and Rosalinde (Die Fledermaus) for Sarasota Opera.
During the 2004 - 2005 season, Ms. Makerov performed the title role in
Tosca for Sarasota Opera, and covered the role of Gerhilde in Die Walküre
with the Metropolitan Opera.
After her departure from Opera San
José in 2003, Ms. Makerov competed in the Metropolitan Opera National
Council Auditions where she was declared a National Finalist and was
featured in a Grand Final Concert with the Metropolitan Opera Orchestra
under the baton of Julius Rudel. For the Sarasota Orchestra, she performed
a series of Puccini arias, duets and ensembles from
Tosca,
Suor Angelica, Manon Lescaut, La Rondine and La
bohème.
Ms. Makerov was also named a winner of the Licia Albanese Puccini Foundation
Competition during the 2003 - 2004 season.
