Bodo Igesz,
Stage Director

 

 

 


Bodo Igesz returns in the 2006 - 2007 season to direct The Barber of Seville, an opera he also directed for OSJ during the 1993 - 1994 season. Other OSJ productions directed include Verdi's Un ballo in maschera, the 2002 - 2003 production of  La Cenerentola, and 
Rigoletto during the 2000 - 2001 season. Having directed at the Metropolitan Opera for 23 years, he is also a free-lance director, staging productions all over the world.  His most recent productions at the Met include Carmen, Ariadne auf Naxos, Eugene Onegin, Bluebeard's Castle, Don Pasquale and Macbeth.

Other recent productions directed include Simon Boccanegra and Un ballo in maschera in Puerto Rico; La traviata and Carmen in Bydgoszcz, Poland; La Cenerentola and Don Pasquale in Santa Barbara, California; Don Pasquale and Un ballo in maschera in Greensboro and The Rape of Lucretia in Reykjavik, Iceland.
