Cilli makes his company debut as a member of Opera San José's resident
company during the 2006 - 2007 season. Mr. Cilli will perform the
roles of Mercutio (Roméo et Juliette), Figaro (Il barbiere
di Siviglia), Count Douphol (La traviata), and Sharpless
(Madama Butterfly).
Roles performed
recently include Tarquinius (The Rape of Lucretia) for San
Francisco Lyric Opera, Lescaut (Manon Lescaut) with West Bay Opera,
Rasputin (Wachsfigurenkabinett) with the Aspen Music Festival,
Schaunard (La bohème) with Amarillo Opera and Yamadori (Madama
Butterfly) with Houston Grand Opera. Mr. Cilli has also performed
with such well known companies as Central City Opera and Des Moines
Metro Opera, and on the concert stage with Utah Symphony and Opera and
the Tanglewood Music Center.
Mr. Cilli received his
Bachelor of Music from Stetson University and his Masters Degree from
the New England Conservatory of Music. He was a Fellow at the Aspen
Opera Theatre Center, a Studio Artist with Houston Grand Opera and an
Apprentice Artist with Central City Opera.
