During the 2005 - 2006 season,
CONSTANTINOS YIANNOUDES appears as Figaro (Il barbiere di Siviglia)
for Taconic Opera, directed by former OSJ resident artist Dan Montez,
and will repeat the role with Eugene Opera later in the season. For Sarasota Opera, Mr. Yiannoudes is engaged to sing the role of Count
Almaviva (Le nozze di Figaro) in early 2006. On the concert
stage, he will perform at Carnegie Hall in William Tell
with the Opera Orchestra of New York.
Since departing Opera San Josè, Mr.
Yiannoudes has maintained an active performance schedule in both opera
and concert. Recent seasons have brought Mr. Yiannoudes to San Francisco
Opera to cover Germont (La traviata), Boheme Opera of Jersey in
the title role of Don Giovanni and Figaro (Il barbiere di
Siviglia), San Antonio Lyric Opera as Escamillo (Carmen),
Cyprus Lyric Stage as Malatesta (Don Pasquale), and to New York's
Central Park with New York Grand Opera for a dual bill of La bohèmes,
as Marcello in Puccini's score and Rodolfo in Leoncavallo's version
of the story.
Over the past several seasons, Mr.
Yiannoudes has appeared with New York Grand Opera, Eugene Opera, Nevada
Opera, Teatro Grattacielo, Little Orchestra Society, Annapolis Opera and
Taconic Opera, as well as in concert at Carnegie Hall, Merkin Hall,
Avery Fisher Hall and the Bruno Walter Auditorium.
Other recent engagements include Kurt
Weill's Mahagonny-Songspiel, Virgil Thomson's Four Saints in
Three Acts, Menotti's Amahl and the Night Visitors, and
Marius in the New York premiere of Robert Starer's Apollonia.
World premiere performances have included the baritone in Roger
Trefousse's Found Objects.
