Susanna Uher returns to Opera San José to perform the role of Mary
Warren in The Crucible. Ms. Uher made her debut
performance with Opera San José
as the Second Lady in Mozart's Die Zauberflöte during the
2002 - 2003 season, and then returned the following season as Adele in Die Fledermaus.
Ms. Uher
recently made her international debut in Rome, Italy as Norina (Don
Pasquale) and her American debut as Juliette (Roméo et
Juliette), and Echo (Ariadne auf Naxos), both with
Arizona Opera. Other recent roles performed include Rosalinda (Die
Fledermaus) with Mission City Opera, Gretel (Hansel and
Gretel) with Golden Gate Opera, and Hannah (Die lustige
witwe) with Lyric Theater of San Jose. Ms. Uher has also
appeared as Despina (Così fan tutte), Susanna (Le nozze di
Figaro), the title role in Donizetti's Rita, Lucia (The Rape of Lucretia), Musetta (La bohème),
Lauretta (Gianni Schicchi), Elisetta (Il matrimonio
segreto), and Bianca (La Rondine).
On the concert stage, Ms. Uher has performed
with Boston's famed Kings Chapel directed by Daniel Pinkham, and often
appears as part of Belle Nuit - a soprano duo featuring duets of
opera and art song which recently performed at the Boston Hatch Shell
sponsored by Boston's classical radio station WCRB, and for the
International Convention of Libraries held at the Boston State House.
