Kim A. Tolman makes her Opera San José designing debut with La bohème. Before relocating to the Bay Area from her native Germany in 2001, Ms. Tolman designed opera and theatre for companies such as Opera Mobile and Cocomico, including Die Zauberflöte, Orpheus and Eurydice, and Ondine. Since coming to California, she has worked on over 80 productions. Her Bay Area designs include the permanent stage at San Francisco's Cobb's Comedy Club, Evita and Kiss Me Kate for Oakland’s Woodminster Theatre, many productions at The Douglas Morrison Theatre including The Women, Do I Hear A Waltz, and Secret Garden, as well as contributing to the scenic design for Buddy: The Buddy Holly Story at the Post Street Theatre, San Francisco. Her upcoming projects include The Gypsy Princess for Bonn, Germany's 2007 Operetta Festival.
