Solmaaz Sarrafzadeh,
Mezzo-soprano

 

 

 

 


Solmaaz Sarrafzadeh appears as Rebecca Nurse in The Crucible during the 2005 - 2006 season. Ms. Sarrafzadeh previously appeared as Manuelita in Opera San Jose’s 2005 production of Carmen, as well as productions of Tosca, Carmen, Der fliegende Höllander, Cavalleria rusticana, Pagliacci, and Les Pêcheurs des perles. She has performed throughout the Bay Area, most recently with Pocket Opera as Ino (Semele) and La Gondolier (Le Pont de Soupirs).  In 2003, she performed the role of The Cousin in Bay Shore Lyric Opera’s Madama Butterfly, and appeared in Opera Boston’s Luisa Miller.

Ms. Sarrafzadeh’s concert appearances have taken her to Vienna’s Konservatorium fur Musik und Dramatische Kunst, where she performed vocal works by Schubert, Mahler and  Strauss. Other concert appearances featured her as a guest soloist in The Russian Music International Piano Competition’s Annual Benefit Concerts, and as a soloist in Ron Jeffers’ The Whitman Credo with the Santa Cruz Chorale in 2003. In 2004, Ms. Sarrafzadeh was the winner of California’s VOCE competition.
