Anthony Quartuccio returns to Opera San José to
conduct The Crucible during the 2005 - 2006 season. Mr.
Quartuccio will also serve as assistant conductor for both La bohème
and Don Giovanni. Previously, Mr. Quartuccio
shared conducting duties for the 2004 - 2005 productions of Le
nozze di Figaro, Tosca, Carmen and The Flying Dutchman. Other
OSJ productions conducted include Don Pasquale, La Cenerentola,
Il trovatore, Falstaff and the world
premiere of The Tale of the Nutcracker.
Recent engagements include a
performance of La bohème for Villa
Montalvo/Mountain Winery Series as well as performances for Spokane Symphony Orchestra, San Francisco
Youth Orchestra, Santa Cruz Symphony, Cabrillo Festival Orchestra, and the Monterey Symphony Orchestra in which he has served as
assistant/rehearsal conductor for Vladimir Spivakov.
Mr. Quartuccio is the
founding music director of Bay Shore Lyric Opera, and Assistant Conductor of
the San Jose Chamber Orchestra.
He is a graduate of the Curtis Institute, and
studied conducting both in the U.S. and Europe.
